British Authorities Solicit Help From Public

They are to be on the lookout for “people doing things“.

“We ask the public to report any behaviors by various people that may or may not be of a suspicious nature,” said Lt. Clive Jameson of the Metropolitan Police Service. “We further ask the public to be especially vigilant for activities of broad stratas of people who may be from countries of some sort, especially those within the eastern and/or western hemisphere.”

The elevated alert levels come on the heels of a week when London and Glasgow narrowly escaped potential events that intelligence experts say may have been related to diverse groups of people doing things. Initially police had specifically asked the public for information relating to doctors driving automobiles, but that initial warning brought angry denunciations from the British Medical Association and the UK Automobile Association.

Fred Has Them Scared

He hasn’t even declared his candidacy yet, and the Left is getting the vapors. They’ve already tasked Associated (with terrorists) Press with a laughably weak hit job.

His stump speech consists of broad conservative themes, talk of bipartisanship and commentary on issues of the day, but it largely lacks any vision for the future of the country. He deflects questions on what a Thompson presidency would look like and demurs when pressed for specific proposals for how to fix the nation’s ills. He opines on hot topics, from taxes to terrorism, in online columns and on his Web site, usually without being challenged. His campaign-trail time is minimal, largely limited to giving speeches at state GOP events.

Get it? He has no substance because he’s not campaigning yet.

In an interview with Sean Hannity he said he deliberately hasn’t started campaigning because campaigns are too long, it’s too easy to get your message out via new media, and because he “didn’t want to play their game.” So here’s the MSM banging its spoon on the high chair because he won’t play their game.

They’re obviously terrified. Wonderful.

He must be completely off of it to have allowed this to happen.

The White House has admitted to a senior government official that it did not vet the audience members in attendance at President Bush’s speech last week at the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C., despite having been warned of the potential presence of individuals who might have triggered national security concerns.

No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy

Let’s hear it for the Grunts.

And when a Marine (Captain, in this case) pays a compliment, I guess we should take it seriously.

We eat, sleep, fight and bleed with the ANA. Let me tell you, the ANA have some of the fiercest warriors I have ever met (next to the Marine Corps). They display the same honor, courage and commitment for liberating their country as we do to keep ours’ safe. We’ve been up and down mountain after mountain and in countless fire-fights and ambushes with these soldiers, and we have fought through each one of them side by side and have always come out victorious. They do not know how to quit, and there is no doubt in my mind that if the entire Afghan Army displays the same dedication that this company does, Afghanistan will be in control of its own destiny soon enough.

But what does he know? He’s not an elite reporter or Democrat congressman.

Congress to Columbia: Get Lost

So what if you’re our friend? So what if you’re recovering from years of war? We offer you the back of our hand.

The President of Columbia reminds the Democrats just who they’re dealing with.

Perhaps driving Columbia into Chavez’s arms is the Democrat strategy.

It’s a fine line, really
