“Pistol Packin’ Pete” Perata, one of our slimy anti-gun California legislators had his car jacked at gunpoint. Even if he had been armed, giving up the car was the right thing to do. That’s not the point.
The following paragraph used to appear at the end of the sfgate story, and has vanished:
Perata said he never had the permit renewed when it expired two years ago because he “just never had the opportunity to re-qualify” at a gun range. Perata obtained the permit out of security concerns stemming from his work regulating firearms.
Let me translate: “Regulate” means “make unavailable to honest citizens”. When he worked hard to disarm Californians, a few complained in, perhaps, inappropriate ways. He claimed there were “death threats”. For the record, I think he was lying.
His response was to arm himself.
What a hypocrite and a coward.
