Polls: Even More Bogus Than I Thought

I’ve long been very, very skeptical of polls, especially political polls. Turns out they’re probably worse than even I thought, because they can’t even get a representative broad sample. Why not? They only get people willing to answer their land line.

Nope, even if the political pollsters start calling the cell-phone only households right now, they would probably be amazed by how out of touch they are with the new America.  Forget Red State or Blue State, the question is: are you wireless or wireline?

Here’s a stab at a state-by-state look. Note that the South seems to be highest.
