When narcissistic arrogance meets systemic corruption expect trouble.

Far from bolstering his flagging image, the president’s group-hug theory of diplomacy deserves the disdain of anyone who can separate rhetoric from reality.

Sure, you can damage a client’s property and then blow him off. But he might know how to make a video.

None of these extra-constitutional “Czars” should even exist, but this one is an absolute barking moonbat. And would somebody kindly explain what a “green job” is? I mean, besides farmer.

His name is listed with 99 other prominent signatories supporting such an investigation on the 911Truth.org website, including Code Pink co-founders Medea Benjamin and Jodi Evans, comedienne Janeane Garofalo, Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia and others.  He’s identified as the executive director for the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights on the statement, which he founded before going to the White House.

I know! Let’s put them in charge of health care!

Update:

The extent and sincerity of his trutherism have been seriously called into question. But he’s still a barking moonbat, and I’m glad he resigned.

“The bombs the government drops in Iraq are the bombs that blew up in New York City,” said Van Jones, director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, who also warned against forthcoming violence by the Bush Administration. “The US cannot bomb its way out of this one. Safety at home requires justice abroad.”

Very cool video shot with a Casio EX-F1. The image quality is much better than I thought that camera would deliver.

Here’s a Handy God

Mark Sanford’s got one that thinks he should be governor.

“I feel absolutely committed to the cause, to what God wanted me to do with my life,” he said. “I have got this blessing of being engaged in a fight for liberty, which is constantly being threatened.”

Who knew that the “fight for liberty” involved flying off to knock boots with an Argentinian hottie? If Sanford’s inventive theology isn’t funny enough, this is a riot:

“I think I now know what Sarah [Palin] may have been feeling,” Sanford told The Washington Times in an interview published Wednesday.

Right. It’s just like that investigation of when Palin flew off to another continent at taxpayer expense for an extramarital affair. Just like that.

Governor Sanford: Go away, shut the hell up, and think about spending the rest of your life apologizing to your family.

Dumping WND

I stopped reading WorldNetDaily years ago. It wasn’t anything sudden, but I sensed some kind of strange vibe there. Apparently they’ve since drifted off and become WorldNutDaily, home to every lunatic idea on the right: Creationist, anti-vaccine, Birther and, now, just offensively stupid.

In the 1960’s, William F. Buckley denounced the John Birch Society leadership for being “so far removed from common sense” and later said “We cannot allow the emblem of irresponsibility to attach to the conservative banner.”

The Birthers are the Birchers of our time, and WorldNetDaily is their pamphlet.  The Right has mostly ignored these embarrassing people and organizations, but some people and organizations inexplicably choose to support WND through advertising and email list rental or other collaboration.  For instance, I have been told that F.I.R.E (The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education) – an otherwise respectable group that does important work – uses the WND email list.  They should stop.

We need to kick the new John Birth Society out of the tent.

Perhaps the generals should look up the word “uniform”.

They’re soliciting comments on the YouTube page.
