Compare and Contrast
Break out your magnifying glass and analytical skills!
What subtle differences can you find between this rally and this one?
More on the Free-Market Case for Green
Peter Robinson continues his chat with T. J. Rodgers, who I like more the more I hear him.
T. J. Rodgers separates climate science from global-warming fiction: Do greenhouse gasses elevate temperatures? Probably true. Are some global-warming scientists spreading false alarms? Probably true, again. Is there more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere now than, say, 100 years ago? Probably true. Is this catastrophic? Probably not. In sum: Rodgers says it’s simply not clear that global warming is a catastrophe.
I hope you like these colors
I spent an hour learning enough CSS to be able to change the link colors. It’s fun. It’s easy.
And it’s a $15 upgrade to WordPress if I want to be able to save the changes.
I hope you like these colors.

If you’ve been reading the Patriot Post
you already know that Saddam stashed a lot of weapons in Syria during the runup to the invasion. It now appears that more evidence may be forthcoming.
And if you haven’t been reading the Patriot Post, then get with it.
Consistency
The GOP took a look at what three people are saying about Iraq. One of them seems to be the odd man out.
Go figure.
Update:
Perhaps you’d like to join Senator Mitch McConnell in sending him a thank you card. I did.
“I’m from the government.”
“I’m here to ____ you.”
Wasn’t that verb supposed to be “help”? Well, I’m sure you can fill in something that fits.
Anybody Out There Have a Clue?
If so, please cut it in two and send a half a clue each to the FBI and the CIA.
My Kind of Green
Can we just put T. J. Rodgers in charge of everything?
“The higher good?” T. J. replies. “That’s bunk.”
The [real] higher good is serving our customers….That kind of service is a higher service than the way our government looks at it, which is, ‘You elect me, I take over, I go to the big house, I get the driver and the big airplane, and then I tell you what’s good and if you don’t like it then I force it on you.’
Update:
Here’s a good question.

George Clooney and Me
Whodathunkit? I’m actually on George Clooney’s side – regarding one thing. He had a little tantrum when WGA arbitration went against him and decided to go fi-core. I’m not supporting the tantrum, but George “Blind Squirrel” Clooney did what I wish every union member would do.
The unions hate “financial core” members, even though they lie through their teeth about how much money is spent on politics and collect an absurd amount of money from them. They hate fi-core because, if everybody did it, the union would cease to exist.
And wouldn’t that be lovely?
A New Look
In the course of setting up another blog I found a theme which I rather like. What do you think of the new look?
NB: If the type seems small, remember that Safari and Firefox can make it bigger with ⌘+. This works on lots of web pages, and is a handy trick to know for those of us with older eyes. Most browsers have a way of doing that, even on Windows, I’m told.
Well, at least it would get her out of the State Department
where she has been an absolute embarrassment. I have my doubts that McCain would pick up anybody from W’s administration.
A Dad Who Gets It
This tells me all I need to know about what kind of man his son was.

A New Kind of Politics?
The Instapundit asks,
Is that a new kind of politics — to keep repeating a falsehood even after it’s been exposed?
I dunno. Kinda rings a bell.

“…prompting some to question climate change theory.”
No. Ya think?
Update:
Perhaps you’ve followed that link and scratched your head at what the title of this post could possibly mean.
Welcome to the BBC’s memory hole. They decided to airbrush out the parts that don’t comport with their notion of global warming. You can see what used to be in the article here.
As if you need more evidence
that the TSA is irredeemably stupid check out this video demonstrating why the recent unintentional discharge on an airliner was not pilot error.
It’s bad enough to shoot yourself in the foot. It’s worse to shoot someone else in the foot.
Sorcery!
We live in times which prove Arthur C. Clark right: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Obama Doesn’t Trust You
Not only does he oppose your right to defend your life, he’s illiterate. What the hell is a “potential atmosphere”?
So if this is the guy with all the “new ideas”, why do his ideas all sound like tired old liberalism?

Could this be a sign of the needed reformation?
Or just wishful thinking?
Pope Benedict’s choice to publicly baptize the most prominent Muslim in Italy, Egyptian-born Magdi Allam, highlights a quiet worldwide exodus from Islam.
I sent Mark Steyn an email with that question, but I have little hope of a reply.

Wrong Victim
A Santa Rosa teen learned a lesson about Marines.
My favorite part?
The man reported the attempted robbery to police 45 minutes later.
Got to put the groceries away first.
Not Counting Democrat Governors…
I’ve often wondered what kind of guy has to pay for sex.
Michael Yon signs off from this dispatch saying:
Today I am in Iraq. Tomorrow Europe, and within the week, back to Texas. About a month later, I should be back in what is left of the war. There is relatively little fighting going on these days.
Ponder that for a moment.
And I pre-ordered Yon’s book just now. You should, too.

Mad for Al
It’s not a complete collection of Al Jaffee’s Mad Magazine Fold-ins, and the New York Times has done a predictable job of cherry picking, but these are still fun.

They Might Be Giants
And he might be president.
Listen to the bullet-head and the madness that he’s saying.
