Too Important to Ignore

Anybody remember Rathergate? I mean, didn’t “fake but accurate” enter the lexicon? And yet CBS news is not only still in business, but still arrogantly shilling for al Qaeda.

I know. I should be shocked. Shocked!

Yes, and a Hearty F**k You from Buttle’s World, Too

Some moonbat at WaPo wrote a column which, even for the MSM, is beyond insulting. Nothing I could say to this guy who is wasting oxygen which could be breathed by sentient beings could come close to this classic dressing down by Uncle Jimbo.

(Caution: Language. Although the post title should have been a clue.)

KLO Makes Gun Joke, Gets Wrist Slapped

Poor KLO. She made what she thought was a New Yorker joke.

Those who know me will have an easy time guessing who sent her the first email in this post.

And, for the record, I think Reynolds has a good point.

The Real Root Cause

Here’s someone who comes right out and says it.

So if this drama hits too close to home, perhaps offended Muslims should use this TV program as an emotional stimulus for change. To this point, the Muslim community has been able to completely avoid any real debate over Islamism. In fact, we see now a movement in England and the West to blame the West’s foreign policy as a root cause of terror rather than the real root cause — theocratic Islamist ideology.

Better yet, he’s a Muslim.

Go Zuhdi!

Name that President

A cowardly lothario with outsized appetites who, spurred by conniving woman, sells out his people to the point where many are killed by a heartless enemy. Yet, when pressed, he only says “Mistakes were made” and considers himself to be not only innocent, but the victim.

Yes, I can only be talking about this president.

I think.

Multiculturalism Kills

Keep saying over and over again. For Britain, it’s probably too late.

The doctrine of multi-culturalism has alienated an entire generation of young Muslims and made them increasingly radical, a report has found.

In stark contrast with their parents, growing numbers sympathise with extreme teachings of Islam, with almost four in ten wanting to live under Sharia law in Britain.

Is Hollywood Too Timid for the War?

An outstanding column in the LA Times by Andrew Klavan, a screenwriter and novelist. He notes that the war is curiously absent from the big screen, and offers some ideas as to why.

We cherish the religious tolerance of our society, after all. Plus, we’re less than a lifetime away from Jim Crow and, decent people that we are, we’re rightly humbled by the moral failures of our past. We’ve become uncomfortable to the point of paralysis when reality draws the limits of tolerance and survival demands pride in our traditions and ferocity in their defense. We can show homegrown terrorists in, say, “Déjà Vu” or real-life ones, as in “United 93,” but we can’t bring ourselves to fictionalize the larger idea: Islamo-fascism is an evil and American liberty a good.

Lesson being learned in Iraq?

BlackFive thinks so. And it’s a good one.

The Washington-initiated “surge” will speed-up the ongoing process of defeating the insurgency. But one should not consider the surge responsible for the turnaround. The lesson to be learned is to keep killing the killers until they realize their fate.

That should rate a “duh” but, in a world of John Kerrys and San Fran Nans, even the obvious needs restating.

Miller no Moonbat

There had to have been a lot of clenched teeth at NPR during Batman creator Frank Miller’s interview. The interviewer certainly struggled to conceal his incredulity. Now I’m definitely going to go see 300.

War Cabinet

A Lt. from Iraq sent a perfect parable to Katie O’Beirne about why the rest of the government needs to get its act together on this war. And Mark Steyn, no less, agrees.

The notion that Foggy Bottom isn’t, shall we say, fully engaged in the war is hardly new. But this is a lot of common sense in a small package.

Kiss England Goodbye, part 493

Several posts today on LGF stemming from some “conference on Islamophobia”. This one takes the cake:

Commander Gargini says, under their proposals, in some cases police would share intelligence with some local [Muslim] people and, if necessary, consult them on anti-terror raids in their area.

Yes. The cops are going to share info with “Muslim leaders” before taking action.

“I shot the infidel”

Little Green Footballs notes the near-total media blackout on the motive in the murder of an American in Turkey. As of the latest update, only the Telegraph in the UK includes it in the story.

Maybe Michael Savage is right: Liberalism is a mental disorder. I can’t find any rational explanation for this suicidal, willful blindness. But it sure is rampant.

I learned a new word today.

Astroturfing. Yes, as a verb.

In politics and advertising, the term astroturfing describes formal public relations (PR) campaigns which seek to create the impression of being a spontaneous, grassroots behavior. Hence the reference to the “AstroTurf” (artificial grass) is a metaphor to indicate “fake grassroots” support.

Follow the link to learn how it’s being done for – are you ready for this? – a leftie web site. I’m shocked.

Jefferson and the Koran

I know this is a little late, what with the swearing-in having happened while I was in Mexico and all, but my mom just forwarded a pithy history lesson by By Ted Sampley, U.S. Veteran Dispatch.

There is no doubt Ellison was right about Jefferson believing wisdom could be “gleaned” from the Muslim Quran. At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.

Good News from Saudi Arabia

As you know from having read America Alone (you have read it by now, right?), we only have three options: Submit to Islam, Destroy Islam, or Reform Islam. The last option is the only one with any hope, and it’s something we can’t really do. What we can do is encourage developments like this.

I also read a comment on a blog tonight opining that the Saudis are keeping oil prices low – in cahoots with Bush – in order to starve Iran for money. It’s worth a “hmmm.”

Clearly the world would be a better place if the Wahabi had no money and hence no influence.

Ask Me if I Care

A friend forwarded me an email claiming to represent the sentiments of Pamela Foster. I’m always suspicious of forwarded emails, so I checked snopes. As I suspected, it was false. But, in an unusual twist, Foster says she agrees with the sentiment.

For the record, so do I. Read the original article.

Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning death that day, or didn’t they?

And I’m supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was “desecrated” when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don’t. I don’t care at all.
